Reformed Church Spokane: Heritage Covenant Church

The vision to start Heritage Covenant Church (HCC) was born out of a deep passion for Reformed theology, Christian education, and authentic evangelism and discipleship. From its inception, HCC has been driven by a vision for a covenant community where the gospel is proclaimed, lives are transformed, and families are equipped to glorify God in every sphere of life.

The seed of this vision was planted in a growing conviction to establish a local Reformed church in Deer Park, Washington, and perhaps, in God’s providence, to found a classical Christian school in the future. Recognizing the need for a church that holds fast to historic Reformed theology while engaging the culture with grace and truth, God has called HCC to be a light in Spokane County and beyond.

A Philosophy of Ministry Grounded in Worship and Mission

At the heart of HCC is a philosophy of ministry that begins and culminates in the Lord’s Day worship. Sunday worship is the high point of the week, where God’s people gather to glorify Him through the faithful administration of the Means of Grace—preaching, sacraments, and prayer. Worship also serves as the launching point for believers to live as Christ’s hands and feet in the world.

During the week, HCC envisions families faithfully discipling their children, living out the gospel in their vocations, and engaging their communities in the natural course of life. Believers are equipped to share their faith, defend it winsomely, and build gospel-centered relationships. Hospitality plays a crucial role, as members open their homes and lives to family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. These authentic interactions, centered on the gospel, remain faithful to Christ’s mission regardless of the response.

On Sunday, families come together to worship corporately, receiving the spiritual nourishment and equipping needed to return to their homes, communities, and vocations to advance the gospel. This rhythm of discipleship, mission, and worship shapes every aspect of HCC’s life as a church.

A Vision for Reformation in the Inland Northwest

HCC is being planted not only as a place where this model thrives but also as a hub for reproducing this vision throughout the Inland Northwest. Through the Reformed Alliance Inland Northwest (RAIN), HCC seeks to establish a network of churches committed to Reformed theology, biblical discipleship, and authentic community engagement.

The goal is to raise up men to lead their homes, communities, and churches, equipping them to shepherd God’s people and advance the kingdom of Christ. HCC desires to see families strengthened, churches planted, and communities transformed by the power of the gospel.

Looking Ahead

Heritage Covenant Church stands as a testament to God’s faithfulness and a beacon of hope for those seeking a biblically grounded, gospel-driven church in Spokane County. As God leads, HCC prays to be a faithful witness to Christ, raising up generations of disciples who will glorify God, serve His church, and advance His kingdom throughout the Inland Northwest and beyond.

Solus Christus. Soli Deo Gloria.
