Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain righteousness on us.

Hosea 10:12

The Reformed Alliance Inland Northwest (RAIN) is a network of Reformed churches united by a shared commitment to glorify God through biblical fidelity, theological clarity, and gospel-centered mission. Rooted in the historic confessions of the Reformation—the Westminster Standards and the Three Forms of Unity—RAIN upholds the authority of Scripture in all areas of life and ministry. Our alliance provides a structured yet flexible network where churches maintain local autonomy while collaborating to plant new congregations, train leaders, and support one another in proclaiming the gospel. We are committed to preserving sound doctrine, fostering authentic community, and equipping believers to live for God’s glory in every aspect of life.

RAIN is uniquely designed to serve the culture and communities of the Inland Northwest, reflecting the region's values of independence and community spirit. Our alliance prioritizes relational ministry, grace-filled worship, and practical discipleship that speaks to the needs of our neighbors. We affirm male-only leadership, a literal six-day creation, and biblical sexuality, rejecting ideologies that conflict with God’s design. By pooling resources, offering mentorship, and providing accountability, RAIN enables member churches to flourish as beacons of truth and hope in their communities while staying true to their Reformed heritage. Whether you are a church or an individual seeking to align with this mission, we invite you to join us in advancing the gospel and building Christ’s kingdom.

Alliance

(RAIN) is structured as an alliance to strike a balance between the flexibility of a fellowship and the organizational support of a denomination. Unlike a loose fellowship, which often lacks accountability and unified mission, an alliance fosters theological integrity and collaborative strength while allowing local churches to maintain their autonomy. At the same time, an alliance avoids the hierarchical bureaucracy of a denomination, enabling churches to remain agile and responsive to local needs. This structure provides shared resources, accountability, and mutual support, empowering churches to work together effectively in church planting, leadership development, and community outreach, all while staying rooted in Reformed doctrine and mission.

core commitments

Confessional Standards

We hold to the Westminster Standards and the Three Forms of Unity, ensuring theological clarity and faithfulness.

Male Only Leadership

Church offices—elders and deacons—are reserved for qualified men, reflecting God’s design in Scripture (1 Timothy 2:12; 3:1-7).

Biblical Sexuality

We affirm marriage as a covenantal union between one man and one woman and reject LGBTQ+ ideologies as contrary to God’s design. Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:11 that the gospel transforms, saying, “Such were some of you.”
